Claudio Donisi
I am an experienced psychologist and psychotherapist who has worked in the field for over 20 years. My experience has involved working in a range of settings within the private, tertiary education, and not-for-profit sectors. Throughout my career, I have managed clinical programs and professional education services. I have extensive experience in providing supervision and training to psychologists, provisional psychologists, and others in helping professions.
I work with adults, couples, and families experiencing a wide variety of issues and concerns. I work from an insight orientated approach based on the theory and practice of psychodynamic, attachment, interpersonal and existential psychotherapy. This approach encourages clients to take the lead in the sessions in exploring what they see as most important, and developing their own concept of change, therefore feeling a sense of ownership around the therapy process. This can help individuals who are looking for more in-depth therapy or would like to explore deeper issues and concerns about themselves or their life direction.
How I work:
Client led and client ownership of change
Insight and exploration orientated
Focus on intrapersonal (internal) and interpersonal (relational) experiences
Psychodynamic, attachment, interpersonal, and existential focus
The primary presenting issues I work with:
Depression and mood issues
Anxiety and stress
Grief, separation, and loss
Difficulty managing emotions
Work stress, relationships and career issues
Couple and family relationship difficulties
Life cycle, change, and life stage transition issues
Attachment and family of origin difficulties in childhood and adulthood
Self-esteem and self-development
Assertiveness and interpersonal communication issues
I am a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in Victoria.
I am a Member of the Australian Psychological Society.
